Last year Mercedes Benz lauched the G63 AMG powered by the 5.5 V8 bi-turbo as well as his bigger brother the G65 AMG V12 Bi-Turbo. The Swedish and Australian army placed orders on 6×6 specs G Classes based on the G320 CDI. Lately Mercedes launched an official video for its G63 AMG 6×6, it looks like there will be a civilian version, Who will buy it? It seems that there are demands by middle eastern and African markets.
Some technicals:
-Weighs around 3.7 tonns but with enough torque and horsepower (536 HP, 760N.m) it will hit the 0-100Km/h under 6.5 secs.
-7G-tronic gearbox, polyvalent transfer case (Ratios are 0,87:1 on road – 2,16:1 off road), 5 differential locks engaged by 3 switches. Power is split following this scheme: 30-40-30 on the three axles.
-37 inch wheel, beadlocks. Air compressor with four air tanks allow you to adjust the tire pressure.
-Suspension is specific with high performance OHLINS shocks.
-Portal axles, “à la Unimog”.
Priced estimated around 450.000 Dollars.
